I learned more vocabulary to use. Also by reading this book I gained knowledge and it is easier to read faster. I have realized that reading isn't that bad and it actually helps me a lot. The wiki helps in the discussion process and also in parts of the book that I did not get. Many times I have read a book and not remembered what I have read but I am actually a lot better in reading. I felt this book was easily understandable. This project has advanced my reading abilities, vocab, and many other things. Though it was a kind of long book, the story and messages behind it were extravagant. I also really liked how, when we were in our small groups that we were able to dig below the surface to find out more about the plot and characters. Also, the story itself was a good read. It interested me, and books like these I usually don\u2019t have an interest in. Also, I liked the author\u2019s style of writing; it was classical and easy to read. Her detail was adequate, not too much and not too little, but enough for you to fully understand what was going on. The only thing I didn\u2019t like about this book was some of the events that took place that were not essential to the story line. For example, the fact that Lily killed her mom was not needed, along with April and May\u2019s death; why couldn\u2019t they all have just lived? I personally think that this would have made the book a little bit more enjoyable.<br \/>\nAlso, I like the way we discussed this book much better than with previous class readings. I think that it is much easier to work in small groups because we can discuss the topics easier, faster, and with a better understanding. However, I do think that we had to do a little too much work everyday in class for 2-3 weeks straight. It just seems like a lot of analyzing and no break in between. However, overall the small groups seemed like a little bit too much work but were much more affective.<br \/>\nIn doing this project, I have learned a lot. Throughout the book I am constantly learning new vocabulary which will help me with future writing assignments. Also, I have gotten very familiar with the wiki site and how it works. Additionally, I have learned how to work in small groups and we learned together how to use our time wisely and work together to get the job done. I really felt as if I were a part of the story when T. Ray arrived at the Boatwright\u2019s to take back his daughter. All the screaming, yelling and fighting really touched me. I found it extremely interesting how the author connected Lily\u2019s whole journey to a colony of bees. I also enjoyed discussing the book in groups instead of as a whole class. This is mostly because everyone got to share a lot more opposed to one or two times. In addition, the wiki was an excellent way for everyone to share their ideas on certain sections of each chapter. I have learned how to make sure to blend quotes really well because we had to have quotes in our responses. I also learned how to use Wiki, which I think was a really cool idea. It helped us keep track of everything that we were reading and made sure we understood what we were reading. I really did like the project overall but I wish we could have done it for a different book because I didn't enjoy The Secret Life of Bees too much. I liked the overall theme of the book and how it used a lot of symbolism, but it was a very boring read and the chapters, I felt, were very dragged out and made it uninteresting to read. I learned a ton of new vocab I can use in my writing, and I learned how to use a wiki site.  Next time I need to make one for a class, or even for fun, I'll be able to make one fairly quickly. The book did have a good story line and a good plot, and characters, but I think that the book is more for girls, or women in general. It is confusing to use, but it is nice to be able to see everyone's thoughts and interpretations of the book. It helps me with understanding the book and interpreting the questions, which is a necessary skill to have.  The book is pretty good, and I like having the netbooks because it makes the class much easier. Discussing in small groups has been really affective when it has come to confusing parts in the book such as what the story of Our Lady of Chains was and certain details about the Daughters of Mary religious group. I am finding this way of analyzing the book to be much more affective than the class discussions we had for Of Mice and Men.
